Well I have finally finished icing Easter eggs for another year, we iced so many in the past two days that it will take a while for my wrists to stop hurting, hope the Easter Bunny dropped lots of yummy chocolate eggs off to you all. My son and daughter brought me some copics for mothers day and I have added a few more to my collection so I have been busy playing with them this is my first effort with a very limited colour palette.
Evening to my fellow crafty bloggers, thought I would share with you the canvas that I did with Anna Dabrowska the other week, as soon as I saw the project I knew the photo that I wanted to use, it's a lovely head shot of my daughter at her wedding, and she had a lovely silver metal slide for her hair which is just peeking out from below the crown of flowers, she has hung this canvas on her wall.........so I guess she liked it.
We created an imaginary dress using lace and resist canvas, and then I added lots of metallic embellishments, buttons and flowers and after painting everything with white Gesso I then used three different coloured sprays and some of the new metallic acrylic which I dry brushed onto some of the embellishments. the drips were made with a glue gun and then I used a pencils to outline the edges of the drips to give them more definition
Evening fellow bloggers hope you had a lovely weekend, I was thoroughly spoilt my my son and daughter as they brought me a set of 36 Copics, so now I have a perfect excuse to start collecting those now.
The challenge at Crafty Individuals this month is called a Box of all sorts. I have used a template from The House of Zandra, called alter me display box to make this, I have used quite a few different stamps sets from Crafty Individuals, as well as embossing, frantage, crackle glaze, to complete this, the finished size is 5.25 ins x 9.25 ins. The paper is Victorian roses by Make and Create which I picked up from The works for a snip at just £4 for a 12 x 12 pad.
Had a fab weekend crafting at Daisy Jewels & Crafts with the lovely Anna Dabrowska, we got to play with lots of metal trinkets, paint and spray paints as well as the lovely new metallic acrylic paints from Prima.........so blingalicious. On the Saturday we made this lovely album which is one of the new journal albums from Prima, thrilled to bits with it and there are pages, pockets and acrylic sleeves left to decorate, which is the excuse I have been waiting for to start mixed media journalling.
We used resist patterned canvas and lace for the background, and for the final touches I added glitter and micro beads. The image is from Crafty Individuals in the fob watch.
We had enough bits n bobs left so I made another mini album
Hope you all had a lovely Valentines Day, I was at work but when I got back hubby had baked heart shaped biscuits as well as getting me a lovely orchid. This week is half term week and that means double trouble in the form of my two Grandsons, today we went to a play centre where they played and generally wore themselves as well as me out.
Todays card is one I made as a commission, which I always feel nervous about doing as I'm always worried that they might not like it. the heart is a stamp from Creative expressions, which I embossed and then cut the heart out again to layer it up.
Afternoon fellow crafty bloggers, are you ready for Valentines Day next Sunday, we are starting to get busy at work, although it only seems like five minutes ago since it was Christmas, I have made another card which could be for Valentines or an Anniversary using my favourite stamp collection from Chocolate Baroque called Harlequin Rose. I embossed the image with cosmic gold embossing powder and then water coloured in the image with Twinkling H2Os adding lots of water to allow the colours to really blend well, I love this technique as the colours soften but still shimmer, but you do need a good quality watercolor paper to do it. I stamped the background paper with a pearlescent gold from Wow, and the sentiment was embossed in gold and coloured in using the same paints.
Morning fellow crafty bloggers, hope you are all well and having a great week. I had a fabbie weekend, I had brought tickets for my hubby and son for Christmas to go to the Classic Rock show at Birmingham town hall, so on Saturday we were rockin' in the aisles, such a brilliant band of musicians and will definitely be going again next year.
My card for today features the new stamp set of trees just released from Crafty Individuals CI 450 Listen to the trees.
I stamped the larger trees on acetate for the box and then embossed the smaller ones for around the sides. I used the Spring time paper pad, and finished off with stamping out some flowers using CI 445, it was rather hard to photograph this with the trees on acetate so apologies.
