Crafty Individuals.....

Morning fellow crafty bloggers, hope you are all well, the sun is just begining to peep out, lets just hope it stays out for abit as I need to get into my garden for a weeding blitz before going on holiday. I know I must sound a bit strange but I always blitz clean throughout the house before going away on my holls, the same again at Christmas, I don't know whether its a guilt thing because I do nothing for a couple of weeks or I'm just slightly mad......answers on a postcard please....lol.

Todays card is a mid way reminder about the challenge at Crafty Individuals, the theme this month is Sun, Sea and Beach.
I have gone for the sun theme for this one using lots of bright colours with Dylusions sprays, I highlighted with a white pen as it seems to be fashionable at the moment ......like to keep up with the latest must haves, any excuse.I did add lots of glitter and I used a glaze pen to highlight parts of the image.
The stamp is from the last release from Crafty Individuals called CI385 Summer Meadow. Other stamps I've used are the flowers CI206, Flower Heads and CI302 Floral Postcard.The fowers and postcard have been coloured in with Prismas.
Oh and did I mention that when you enter you aso get a code which gives you a whopping 25% discount off your order, the new stamps are stunning and I shall be colouring in whilst I'm away.

I think that this is about the brightest thing I've created...lol.

Morning all, hope you had a great weekend, the weather didn't hold out for my daughters wedding on Friday, however we managed to get a few photos outside before the rain came down, later on the sun shone again so at least we had a dry evening. Everything went well, the bride was 5mins fashionable late, the time simply disapeared and it was a mad scramble tryig to lace her into her dress..... my hands were shaking so much.

Today sees the start of a new challenge at Sketch n Stash, for this challenge we are being sponsered by The Stamp Fairy, with the optional theme of Summer fun.

For my card I have used the new papers from First Edition, the image is coloured in with Prismas.

Sugar Creek Hollow....

Aternoon peeps this card is a day late, as the challenge for Sugar Creek Hollow started yesterday, but I've been up till late at night for the past three days getting ready for my daughters wedding which was on Friday, we had a lovely day but the day went by in a whirl, I was totally calm on the day until my Grandson Ethan arrived in the room where we were getting ready and he looked so lovely in his wedding suit with his cravat and his Prince Edward jacket, I was choked up and then my hands started shaking and that was is it..... I was all fingers and thumbs trying to lace my daughter in to her dress, and we ended up being fashionably 5 mins late, the registra had to come up to us. I'll piccies later on in the week.

.......anyway getting back to my project for Sugar Creek Hollow, this fortnight we have the theme of Mixed Media, I have used a few techniques on this card including Frantage.

The birdcage and metal hanger have been frantaged

using the antique pink and the Vintage wine embossing powder.

the stamp is a new one from Crafty Individuals CI389.....Tea at Three, I stamped

the image on fabric with Memento and then coloured it in with Promarkers,

I sticked the lace and floral trim onto the 

hanging and then added the blue and crystal beads to the bottom and sides.

The frame and resin bird are from the Ribbon Girl, I painted both with white paint and then rubbed rose treasure gold onto the frame to hightlight the details.

The image is from Crafty Indviduals which I then added glossy accents on to the top.

The flowers I brushed with white paint for a more shabby effect.

Ooh La la......

Bonjour peeps, hope you all had a lovely weekend at least the sun shone for most of it. This week is my daughters wedding and hopefully the stress of organising will have disappeared by the day, my daughter is sooooooo stressed bless her, and I spent most of last night making up table cards for her, but tomorrow we are having a pamper evening wih a meal......so need a back massage.....bliss.

Todays card is for the new challenge at Ooh La La creations, the theme for this fortnight is buttons and bling, I so love a bit of bling. I have used papers and an image from the Passion for fashion Cd, the image is called Pretty as a Picture, my bling is the Frantage, I love playing with this and have mixed up pots of different colours with all the different bits in, problem is it blows everywhere, oh well at least my carpet sparkles.

Crafty Individuals.....

Morning hope all is well , still no sun again this morning, I've got a busy day today docs first thing followed by the dentist.....broke a tooth. Think I'm slowly falling apart. I have booked a pamper evening next week for my daughters Hen Party, off for a back massage and meal, mind you with how stressed we all are after the massage we'll probabaly all fall asleep in our dinner.

Today sees the start of  this months challenge at Crafty Individuals, the theme for this challenge has been chosen by Sylvie aka Nefertiti 'SEA, SUN AND BEACH'. .....not sure about the sun bit....lol.
For my project I have altered a canvas by using the back rather than the front. I've used stencils with Ferra, lace, doilies and rope to create the texture. The paints I have used are Paper Artsy and I've also spritzed with gold glimmer mist. The shells have been painted and then Treasure gold to highlight the details.

The stamps used are Crafty Individuals......CI384, Grace Darlings Lighthouse, and

CI294 Ship and Navigation elements. the images have been coloured in with Prismas.

The lighthous and sea have been layered up for added depth.

Mini Tutorial......

Morning peeps....ok who pinched the sun after a couple of glorious days we are back to a grey sky, darn it. Over at the Kraftyhands blog all of the team are  doing tutorials on how they made a card for Fathers Day, so there are lots of inspirational projects to have a peek at. Heres my tutorial for a card that I have made using images and papers from The Man about Town CD.




Materials used
Man About Town Cd.
14.5 cms cream card blank
Copper stickles
distress embossing powder...tea dye
embossing powder.....gold.
Embossing pen
Vintage Photo distress ink
Pin Flair glue.
1mm foam pads
Ribbon/braid.
gears and game spinner.
Glossy Accents.
Buttons x3.
paper for printing on.
Scissors.
double sided tape.
Heat gun.

Print off the Cd, the topper, backing topper, and two of the background papers as well as a sentiment.
Cut backround paper to 13cms x 13cms and distress the edges with vintage photo.
Tear a strip from the other paper and ink edges with Vintage Photo. Using the embossing pen run it down both sides of the torn strip, try to do unevenly to create a more distressed look, if you have too much powder on brush off with a paintbrush before you heat the powder.
Distress the edges of the toppers with vintage photo and on the image topper run your embossing pen round the inner coloured circle, then use tea dye embossing powder, if you have not used distress embossing powder before wait until cool after heating it up and then rub over to realise the crystals.

 Using 1mm foam pads mount the image topper on top of the mount topper, you can use Pinflair glue for this stage.
Using glossy accents glue the cog onto the topper after securing the spinner with a mini brad.
Whilst this is drying
Mount a piece of braid or ribbon onto the background paper 2cms from the left hand side, using double sided tape.
Stick torn strip on the top slightly to one side so that the ribbon peeks from behind.
Mount topper slightly to the left using Pinflair so that you can position it in the right place.
Add buttons, I cut little strips of paper for the button holes to recreate faux stitching.
Add glossy accents to the sentiment.
Add copper stickles to the edges of the card.

Sketch n Stash.......

Morning all, hope you had a great weekend and that the sun was shining for you, its still quite cool but ohhhhh so lovely to be able to sit outside in the sun which I did whilst holding Zachary who was having a nap and Ethan was busy playing in the garden....such a joy. He is a little scamp I mentioned that I need to water some of my new plants and he did no more than turn the hose on and started watering them......normally in the past he has turned the hose on us and soaked us through but I was rescued in the nick of time.

Well today sees the start of a new sketch challenge  at Sketch n Stash.
